RISE OF A SAMURAI

The animated short film Rise of a Samurai is the final project of my media design studies. The aim of the project was to investigate modern 3D tools and workflows using artificial intelligence and to summarise the results in a report. From conception to realisation, visual storytelling, character design, motion capture, asset/foliage creation, procedural tools, cloth simulation and visual effects were all key components of the work. This project was based on the Unreal Engine 5 with features such as Lumen, Nanite, Niagara and PCG.

Set at the time of the first mongol invasion of japan, Rise of a Samurai tells the story of a young boy who must learn the values of the samurai to face the murderers of his family.
